Does anyone know what the required time frame is to comply with Airworthiness Directives? Are there any forms of ADs that can automatically ground an entire type of aircraft?
Regards,
Zach

It depends, some deadlines may be 2 years from now others may be 2 months now, it all depends. But the FAA usually gives enough time to get it done.

Yes, if you miss the deadline, the FAA can ( and probably will) ground the plane for maintenance and take it out of revenue service until it is fixed.
BUT, you can still fly the plane sometimes. Say you miss the deadline but you need to fly the plane somewhere else to complete the maintenance. The FAA will usually grant you waiver for some pilots to fly it there.

Any aircraft that has an AD which has not been complied with in the required time period is un-airworthy, i.e. "grounded". However, there are waivers to allow the aircraft to be flown to a point where it will have the AD fixed.
