I know this sounds like something that should go to polls & preffs, but I wanted a tech prospective.
Looking at the A330 and how successful it is, also looking at the fact that the A330 was base on the A300 design, I wonder what if Airbus built a new jet off the A320 design?
The A320 is pretty successful, so I wonder if Airbus built a new jet using a super stretch A320 design with a new wing with large winglet and a greater wing span, with a larger tail and replace the two wheels boogie with a four wheel boogie and up dated the cockpit and cabin, could it be a success? I know charter airlines would like a plane like this.

That would basically be an Airbus 757. The charter carriers would probably love it but, as the 757 showed, that's not a big enough market to justify a whole production line.
