First off, I'm NOT a terrorist, so don't chew me out when I ask this.

Can a pilot with a 747-100 type rating fly the -200, -300? I mean, they're practically the same.

Yes... all you need is what is called "differences training" for the different series. The differences are highlighted in teh AOM for the airlplane, and summarized at the end of each section.
