Before Airbus was going to produce the A380, there was some concern that because of the size of the aircraft, a lot of major airports would have to re-construct its terminal, taxi ways, and runway to accommodate the A380. Now that the A380 is in service, my question is to anyone who knows about this, did any airports go under any type of renovation or re-construct its terminal, taxi-ways, or runways to accommodate the A380? And finally, is the A380 larger than the Boeing 747-400 or Boeing 747-800?

Several did. Off the top of my head:
- LHR Terminal 5 is 380 ready.
- LAX did some taxiway work IIRC and some terminal work.
- AMS.
- Many more?

Significantly larger than either. The below comparisons show a plan view.
Also, it's 747-8, not 747-800

In the case of SIN, its runway shoulders were widened for the A380. The aircraft pavements at runway-taxiway and taxiway-taxiway intersections were also widened. Several gates in T1(5) & T2(6) were modified to accommodate a third aerobridge to allow boarding of the Upper Deck and their respective gate hold rooms were also expanded. 2 freighter stands and 2 remote stands were also modified for the A380. Need jet blast shields were added to taxiway SC1 & SC2. Baggage reclaim carousels have also been extended in the respective terminals to handle the A380 as well. T3 which opened in 2008 was designed with the A380 right at the start and has 8 A380 ready gates.
For SYD, 16R/34L & 07/25 had the runway shoulders widened, aircraft pavements at runway-taxiway and taxiway-taxiway intersections were also widened. Taxiway A was also re-aligned. Certain areas of 16R/34L and taxiway A were also strengthen due to the General Holmes Drive Tunnel being right beneath that section. Taxiway G was also relocated. 6 gates in T1 have also been modified to accomodate the A380 with a third aerobridge like SIN. 3 remote stands have also been modified. 4 new baggage reclaim carousels were also added.

Note that in the first views you posted, the Mriya shown in gray is way oversized for some reason. Someone wanted to make a point apparently, not caring about facts.

LAX also relocated runway 7L-25R 50 feet south. I don't know if that had anything to do specifically with the A380, but they're also adding a taxiway in between 7L-25R and 7R-25L, so they needed room for that.
I seem to recall reading that the A380 lands on the north complex runways as well, so I don't really know......

At LAX, as I understand it, the controllers aren't 100% happy with QF bringing their A380 in, either, because several operational restrictions have to go into place when an A380 taxis in from the runway or out for takeoff, as the airport has several places where an A380 taxiing could poke a wing out into the protected area for the next taxiway over or even onto a runway's protected area...I wonder how long it will be before a few construction projects are undertaken to clear that up? No wing dings yet, that I'm aware of...
Nice picture, BTW Starlion. Reminds me of the day in SIN that I snapped this picture:
9V-SKA on 3/22/08 in SIN, the day I lost my A380 virginity
I tried submitting this one to a.net, but got rejected for "motive", apparently shooting from behind the terminal glass is bad motive
