That looks to me to be an ADF loop antenna. It could also be a TCAS or SATCOM antenna, but the shape doesn't look quite right to be either of those. Anybody with B747 experience know?

Not TCAS. that one is relatively flat, usually mounted above the cockpit. Adf I think are usually on the bottom, not sure though. My guess is GPS.

It looks like an ADF loop to me. I know the TCAS is usually above and below section 41, but I have seen some placed in the rear. Some models do stick up that far, but they are rectangular shape. I have never seen a GPS antenna that large either. I mentioned TCAS because I don't see an upper TCAS on this plane... somebody must know!
