767 & 744: GE Vs. PW

Hey Guys-

So I found myself wondering (ah, the things I ponder in my free time) about the GE CF6-80C vs. the PW 4000 on the 767 and 744. What are the differences between the engines on the 767 vs. the 744, besides thrust rating? Are the accessories and gearboxes different? I know that with the RB211, you can swap engines between the 763 and 744 as BA does this. Can other carriers with the same engine type, either PW or GE, swap them between the two aircraft types as well?

I also am curious about fuel burn comparisons. It's been rumored (though not necessarily proven on here) that the SFC of a GE powered 763 is slightly better than the SFC of a PW powered 763, hence why DL chose to outfit GE 763's as their "long-range" birds. I am wondering since this seems to be the case with the 763, is there a similar SFC difference between PW and GE powered 744's?

Now I know why curiosity killed the cat...

But I heard that the CF6 also wound up having bigger problems with performance deterioration with age and higher maintenance costs. Not sure if this is true.
