I understand the concept of what it is. However, are there videos of wind tunnels or diagrams or schematics visually showing what it can do to air flow?

An old Boeing AERO magazine dealed with solving the wake turbulance problem. Look at the Boeing site and look at the back issues of the AERO mag. If you can't find it, tell me and i'll post a link here.

I think they have pictures at NASA Dryden's webpage. They had this 727 they were doing some tests with, I think they were pouring some liquid out of the wingtips to visualize the vortices. If memory doesn't fail me, this is the site, you'll just have to look around a bit for the pictures. Give it a try!
