Does anyone know why Manchester App/Dir vector the A380 through the RWY center line, over the city then bring it back in from the north west to join the localiser on RWY23? It looks like an 'S' shape.

It could have been for traffic separation. On Wednesday it was straight in from the east, and today's flight seemed to be straight from the east, or so it seemed as I was driving round the M60.
