Can you give me information about the PW8000 engine?
When will it be ready? What thrust will it have? Which airplane could use it? I´ve heard that it could fit to either the A320family or to the A340-500/600.

The PW8000 will have a max thrust of 35,000 lbs., enough for the A340 200/300 but not the 500/600. I read somewhere that PW had built a geared fan engine based on the PW2000 core, that engine would probably have enough power for the A340 500/600.
