I'm trying to get some information about how much it costs to operate passenger flights and couldn't find an existig thread on this so I'm hoping maybe I can get some information here.
I know that, for a given type of plane and a given route distance, the total cost will vary depending on factors such as weather conditions, cost of jet fuel, labor costs, cargo loads, etc., but I'm just looking for just a rough number. For example, if we assume full passenger loads, current jet fuel prices, and all other factors being average, how much would the following flights costs to operate? Again, I'm just looking for a rough number or a rule of thumb for determining the rough number.
1. An ultra long haul such as ORD-DEL on a 777
2. A long flight such as LAX-JFK on a 757
3. A medium flight such as LAX-SEA on a 737
4. A short hop such as PHX-TUS on a CRJ
Thanks in advance for any help.
