A380 Orignially Design With Quad Nose Gear?

For some reason, around 1997, I remember seeing a drawing for the A3XX (A380) with a quad wheel nose gear. Was the A380 originally design to have a quad nose gear, and if so, why Airbus change the nose gear design to an twin wheel design instead of staying with the quad nose gear design?

The 747-700X concept did have a four-wheel "dualie" nose gear (two wheels and tires per side).

Part of what happened in those years was much better tire design. So they could run larger and wider tires than before. This reduces the ground pressure for a given wieght, which in turn can prevent needing more wheels to meet airport compatablity. The primary restriction on wieght per wheel is runway damage, not tire or wheel strength.
