I have a question regarding engine types used in the aircrafts below:
a) All Nippon Airways 744 & 744D
b) Japan Airlines 744 & 744D
c) Thai Airways 744 & 743
Are the engines in (a), (b), and (c) exactly the same type of GE engines with the identical thrust ratings or different types of GE engines with non-identical thrust ratings? Please differentiate between engines used on the 744, 744D, and 743.

The ANA 747-400/D are all GE CF-6 engines however the engines on the "D" are derated as not that much thrust is needed. Thai also had GE CF-6 engines on their 744's and on there 743's they are also GE's but a earlier version. Cathay Pacific uses RR RB-211 engines on their 744 and 744F's. Singapore Airlines uses the PW PW4000 series engines. They look more similiar to the GE engines than to the RR's. These are the most powerful engines availible on the 747-400. Hope this helps.
