Fuel Prices & Surcharges

Hi all,

In my work I sometimes have to do with charter flights. Airlines lately frequently charge (in my eyes ridiculous) fuel surcharges based on certain fuel prices. They usually use "Platt" or something or "Barges", which mean nothing to me, to base the increase of fuel price on. I would like to check the fuel prices they claim. I tried to find prices on internet, but I can't find anything. Does anybody know where I can find actual fuel prices on internet and how they go up and down? Is there a site somewhere? Right now I am interested in fuel prices in a few countries in South America. Can anybody help? Thanks!

Regards,

DB

IATA publishes a weekly Jet Fuel Price Monitor on their website, but it only shows the worldwide average price and variations by world regions, not for specific airports. Platts is the source of the IATA data.

Here are the links to the latest IATA data and related comments. Note that prices shown are at the refinery. Shipping costs will obviously vary widely depending on where the fuel is uplifted.
