This may have been asked before, but How does the "odd" B737-600 (and B737-200/500) cargo belly compares to an E190's (and E195's)?
While compared to the E190, the B737-600 is an expensive aircraft to fly, it'd look like the Boing could hold more baggage/cargo.

I'm not on CM's payroll.

Lower deck cargo/baggage volume per Boeing and Embraer website data:

737-200 875 cu. ft. (24.8 cu. m.).
737-500 822 cu. ft, (23.3 cu. m.)
737-600 720 cu. ft. (20.4 cu. m)

E-190 799 cu. ft. (22.6 cu. m.)
E-195 906 cu. ft. (25.7 cu. m.)

I didn't expect the B737-600 to hold less than the E190.

My guess would be that the difference results from the 3-3 layout versus 2-2 layout.

Window seats may be over-rated, but I'll take a window seat on a DC9 anyday

Huh, it shrinks with each new iteration. Are they making room for more fuel or passenger space?

One thing that isn't considered in those dimensions is that the door on the ERJ opens outward where the 737 door opens inward. Having loaded both, I find the ERJs have more usable space because of this.

The wing box gets bigger each time, eating up cargo area.

I don't understand everything I don't know about this.
