Same A/c On Two Routes.

Hi, I'm flying on BA903 and BA780 on a saturday in october. I'm doing it because I wan't to fly the B763 for the first time and also do an intra-european flight on a widebody for the first time. And BA's gonna be a first-timer as well.

Is there a possibility that both flights will be operated by the same a/c? Or is it a good chance that the flight will be on two different individuals of the aircraft type? Layover at LHR is around two hours.

When OLCI for these flights are avaiable will it be possible for me to choose a seat with extra legroom? Or do I have to pay extra for that. It's already possible to choose seats for a fee but I won't do that since the whole trip has allready reached its budget.

With a two-hour layover at LHR, I would assume it will be a different a/c.

I cant quote for BA itself but a lot of airlines EI included charge to pick your seat until the 00.00 on day of the flight, from then on its free.

Hey guys thanks for your replies.

Quoting by188b (Reply 2):

Guess there's a decent chance that I will get two 763s in my logbook then. No worries though, I'm happy with whatever happens.

Quoting 330guy (Reply 3):

I think it's not gonna be a problem. As long as I get a window seat I'll be satisfied. And the flights aren't too long either.

Its a funny experience. I flew on the same plane and same gate after a connection a couple of times. On shorthaul, if theres no distinction between arrivals and departures at the gate, people will look weirdly. I came out of the bridge as one the last pax, strolled around the gate counter, and boarded again 10min later.
People, who are not used to aviation operations will think you just came from where you are going, because they think a plane is only used back and forth on the same route (As is often the case with busses and trains). You can see those faces thinking "Why would he fly directly back again?".
Its obviously also fun to see and greet the same crew, if its short haul.

Couple of years ago I flew SFO - HKG - TPE on CX.

Arrived at gate 4 at HKG, went through the process to go back to departures ... only to get on the same A343 for my flight to TPE.

Didn't have the same seat though ...

I'm tired of the A vs. B sniping. Neither make planes that shed wings randomly!
