Was just admiring the lastest 77W for BA, when I began to question:
I wonder what are the performance differences between the first few 77Ws that came out and the latest 77Ws?
I have tried to do a search for this, but no luck; I know in almost all aircraft programmes, the first 'wave' of units that come out are usually a heavier, i.e. a lower MTOW. A perfect example is the A330, which is enjoying substantial sales thanks to upgrades (and delays of the 787?) ... and also the A388 - which is pushing for this close to 600T MTOW magic number.
Boeing striked the perfect balance in upgrading the 773 to 77W in my opinion, but are there significant modifications in, for example, the wing structure, the GE engines (PIPs ?) ?

This is something that has always intrigued me. I first thought about it as a little kid when I rode in a friend's parent's car that was the same model and year as my parent's car, and I noticed there were some minor differences in the interior (not tied to any 'sport' package or radio but no tape player, but instead the plastic on the door handles was different, etc).
Interesting to me that each plane really is different - and I guess maintenance manuals for each plane differs slightly, and maintenance personnel can tell a difference between one 777 and another supposedly identical 777.
Anyway, sorry for the slightly OT post, but just wanted to chime in and say this interests me as well.
