Gmis Entertainment System Questions

I have a few questions about the "GMIS" system that BA use on some of their 777s.

1. Did any other carriers and aircraft get fitted with this system?
2. Why was it not very popular?
3. Why did BA not replace it sooner?
4. Are there any pictures of what the crew panel or the system itself looks like?

I've experienced it a few times on BA flights between LHR and RUH and I don't see many problems with it other than being a bit old. It didn't crash and the picture/sound quality wasn't bad.
