Hi

Today driving by Locarno airport I saw a Bombardier CL-604 or 5 parked outside. According to some internet sources the longest runway at LSZL is 2626 ft long. Does anyone know how that plane got in there?

Thanks

There are several photos of HB-IKS - a CL-601-3A - at that airport in the Airliners.net database.

And at least one other jet - Cessna Citation of some type.

The field length is almost within the aircraft landing performance specs listed by Bombardier.

I've seen this discussion somewhere else years ago. My memory is that the plane is flown in to arrive at a very light weight, and it takes off only for a short hop to a nearby airport where it is refueled for a longer flight.
