744 To Be Scrapped Or Converted?

Anybody know of any 747-400 parked awaiting either the scrap heap or freighter conversion?

I am seeking a galley chiller exhaust system duct that is on at least half of the 744 built.

Nothing on the standard used parts market, but it is not a spendy part so people may not have bothered to list it.

Contact http://www.taeco.com/

They do all the 747 BCF conversions. I'm not sure how brisk their business is now but, when I used to go to China periodically 4-5 year ago, they always seemed to have 2 or 3 in progress.

CX have just retired two of their 744BCFs. Not sure if they would have the ducting that you want although they still do have an upper deck forward galley. One of their BCF's B-HOZ will be scrapped whereas the other B-HKH I am not sure about. They are both parked in Victorville.
CX also plans to retire three passenger 744s this Autumn which will probably end up being scrapped.

I believe Qantas has a few 744s in VCV awaiting the scrapman too. Lufthansa retired a couple of frames recently to be scrapped as well, although I am not sure where they are.

Tom.

IAI in Tel Aviv do freighter conversions as well.

Thanks!

Now I got to find a contact at VCV.

I used to do business with Southern California Aviation, are they the right folks to contact?

Tod

is there a company called Pacific Aviation? That seems to ring a bell as a VCV contact.

Air New Zealand's ZK-NBT and ZK-NBU are being scrapped at Goodyear Airport in Arizona.

First to fly on the Boeing 787-9 with Air New Zealand and ZK-NZE; NZ103, AKL-SYD, 2014/08/09. I was 83rd to board.

Very cool.

Both of these planes were born with the 214U7404-50 duct that I am looking for.

Any contact info?
