Departing 4L and 31L KE, land 4R (which is very normal for the morning rush)
Tower is now feeding 31L at KE from both sides of the runway, having several aircraft cross 31L at K, making a right turn on KC and then another right on KE.
This gives feed to 31L from the terminal side (near T3) and the bay side.
KC and KE on the Jamaica Bay side were created with the 31L redo as part of a delay mitigation program.
First time I have seen them in use for these conditions...how long has it been going on?
Also, another new thing tower is doing...
When departing 13R in the am, using 13L on a regular basis for departures...not just the occasional one off.

When I was at JFK on Tuesday I noticed that when intl heavies landed on 4R, they taxied back along the runway to the brginning of the runwY and crossed at 4L. I also noticed that when they were doing parallels, the only aircraft I saw land on 4L were JetBlues (invluding the redsox plane ), a DL 738, and the LH a388. I fiured it was because they were using 4L for departures and didnt want planes that took a lot of time and runway to stop.

When aircraft are told to taxi to the other side to depart at KE from the bayside, it's most likely because they have a flow time to their destination, their route/departure fix is shut down or they are working on getting numbers or working on a maintenance issue. Basically, it's to get them out of the way.

I used KE from the bayside flying out of JFK last summer. We didn't have an EDCT time and there was a constant flow back and forth from both sides of KE. I assumed it was to ease congestion on B and A. It seemed to me to be orchestrated pretty well because there was never more than three or four aircraft on KE & KC as to not block aircraft from going to 4L via K.
