MRC And LRC, Winds For One And Not The Other!

Why is that in the FMC MRC speed will take account of the winds we enter ie headwind/tailwind but with LRC it does not look at the winds? Is this just on the 737 FMC or on others?
I know of course that MRC will look for max range and that LRC is slightly faster with a slight penalty on range but surely it would still take the winds into account?
Any ideas/guidance?
