Hi Folks,
I was wondering if anyone "on the other side of the pond" would happen to know what the deal is with a BA B744 that has been OOS/AOG for a week now at JFK. I have seen it every day on my way into and out of JFK now, can't catch the reg, sorry, I'll try again tomorrow, but it's sitting there back by the FedEx and Air China Cargo areas (approach end of 13L, north side). Just wondering if someone could advise what the issue is, a week is quite a long AOG.
Thanks in advance for any info!

Quoting Tristarsteve (Reply 2): It is IVV. It had some damage in a flap carriage which caused a bit of a mess and needed a lot of spares.
Its nearly finished now.
Thank you, that is the one! I took a different way into the airport to grab the reg this morning LOL!!! I was thinking that it might have something to do with flap/slat issues as the slats were extended (couldn't see the flaps). Thank you so much for the response!

Hi Tristarsteve,
Do you have an update on this a/c? She was still sitting on the remote hardstand this morning, all doors wide open, engines covered. She's going on being there 2 weeks now the poor thing!

I saw it still sitting there last Wednesday behind the triple hangars as I exited the airport around 10PM. It was lit up though.
