Saratoga Springs GPS Approach Flown Into Trees

This is a really fascinating article about the GPS 05 approach into Saratoga Springs, NY (5B2). The PIC followed the published approach procedure, and it led him straight into a tree.

I'm going to guess that 100ft trees that might add 3ft/year would be... white pines? Yikes, though.

Thanks for posting - that's very interesting, to say the least.

I wonder if the litigation included negligence charges - hard to do against any governmental entity, I know. It seems that the city and the FAA knew about the trees penetrating the approach's airspace.
