On Airbus widebodies (A300, 310, 330 and 340) I have only flown with a coach configuration of 2x4x2, or 8 across (apart from the last few rows when the fuselage tapers). Past or present, have any airlines been able to put more seats across for, say, a 3x4x2 configuration, or greater?

Pilot: "Request push, which way should we face?" JFK Ground: "You better face the front, sir, or you'll scare the pax!"

The maximum possible is 3+3+3, which is used by some charter operators. Seat cushion width is about 16" and aisles are 16.5".
