Can't recall any Europe-JNB nonstops using 707s or DC-8s. Especially northbound from JNB's high elevation and often high temperatures, I doubt the 707 or DC-8 would have been able to carry an economic payload on such a long nonstop sector. For example, JNB-LHR is further than SFO/LAX-LHR which were among the longer nonstops operated by the 4-engine narrowbodies, and those airports are all close to sea level.
El Al used the 707 on TLV-JNB nonstop but that's quite a bit shorter. And even there, the northbound flights always stopped at NBO if memory correct.

Technical stops may not have been published in a timetable.

I agree with that. The airline doesn't need to include the en-route fuel stop in its timetable making it look non-stop. They can just call it a 'direct flight'.
I flew in a 757 from LGW to Kenya once and it had to stop both ways to refuel.
However, didn't B. Cal fly their 707 non stop LGW to LAX?
and with that..cabin crew, seats for landing please.

As did Pan Am and TWA for years LHR-LAX. I flew both Pan Am and B. Cal 707s on those routes. The B. Cal trip was very soon after they started service. The aircraft looked like new as they had modified a few 707s for use on the U.S. routes with the then-new Boeing "widebody-look" interior with overhead bins replacing the old open racks and newly-designed wall and ceiling panels. By then Pan Am and TWA were both using the 747 on LHR-LAX.
