Ordering New Leased AIrcraft

Hi guys, First time poster here.

I have a question. When an Airline orders new aircraft that will be Leased, do they deal with the manufacturer, or the Lessor? Or do they all just use the Sale/Leaseback method?

I know of one example where the airline secured the financing of the plane through a loan but the lessor made the payments on the loan.

The airline would negotiate with Boeing over the purchase price, with banks over the interest rate, and with the lessor over the lease payments.

The lessor would then make the loan payments, receive lease payments, and accept the residual value risk
