I am new here, so go easy. I am a flying enthusiast, but also a somewhat nervous flyer- go figure! I usually fly on the ultra long hauls with Emirates or Singapore Airlines to Asia. I always notice the IFE screens are so hot and wonder about their safety. I was checking online for articles, and found an article that raised questions for me :

On FAA approved installations, the mechanical system DER (Designated Engineering Representative) signing off on the seat/IFE display installation must find that there are adaquate cooling provisions for the seat mounted IFE equipement.
The EASA requirements are similar.
Typically some passive venting is all that is required.

Does that mean Emirates will also have cooling provisions? Just wondering. They don't have to comply with FAA or EASA. Given that their ICE is highly acclaimed, you would think that they would also have highest safety features as well.
