Does anybody know for sure when the new airtport in Quito will be opened?
I have been told 19 Februar -13, but the date has been postponed many times so I do not know what to believe.
Will Mariscal Sucre be closed down at the same time?
Any information will be appreciated.

I was just in Quito and the new airport is still slated to open on 20 Feb. 13. There is no published time line on the closure of the current airport but one would assume there would be a short transition period for all the current users of Mariscal Sucre airport since it caters to private, commercial and military tenants.

Cheers,

John

UA moved their operations there yesterday. 20FEB. The round trip flights were cancelled to support it.

Same with AA. From what I've heard, SEQU is now closed permanently.

B-52s don't take off. They scare the ground away.
