True Range/economics Of 112-seat E190?

Stumbled across FlyNIKI's 112-seat E190 aircraft recently and got curious about its economics.

Air Berlin now owns FlyNIKI and will transfer the E190s to Air Berlin Regional LGW - why would they do that? The range is quoted to be 3,700km (2,000nm) which is way too much for regional hops.

Anyone have an opinion about the economics of a 112-seat E190? I believe Virgin Australia and a few Chinese carriers have 104-114 seats in their E190s, so it can't be all bad?

And can the E190 really fly 2,000nm with 112 pax? That sounds incredible.

It depends; is there a lot of cargo underneath? The E190 does have pretty long legs for its class of aircraft, and indeed, B6 managed to ferry one from LGB to JFK. Keep in mind, also, that although the E190 may have a range of over 2,000nm (depending on the model - it ranges from 1800nm to 2300nm), it doesn't mean that its operator will send it on routes that far. Again, thinking of B6, the longest route their E90 is currently deployed on is BOS-AUS, which, at 1473nm, is well within the -LR and -AR's range. Perhaps those airlines with a higher density for their aircraft are looking to either enter new markets with it, or supplement routes already served with larger aircraft. Both are missions that the E90 are ideal for, along with the longer/thinner routes.
