Wiring Diagrams Interpretation

I could use some help generally understanding the details on wiring diagrams. Would be thankful for your input.
Example: the WDM of a junction box of the intercom of a helicopter:



The junction box is physically a box with 4 round multiple-pin connectors.

It would help to see the whole junction box on the diagram.

Without knowing the manufacturer's conventions, I can only make some educated guesses.

The red circled letters may be a connector designation.

The blue circled letters are the j-box's designation for that connector. It may even be labeled on the box itself.

The reason 2 pins can have the same designation is because they are on different connectors.

P6 and P7 are connector designations. The connector pin numbers seem to match, but the audio designations change for some reason. Maybe because two pieces of equipment use different schemes for designating audio lines. The yellow looks like highlighting by someone tracing a particular audio )audio 2/11) circuit. The red circles numbers would be a wild guess on my part. It's all guesswork with no reference or information.

How about the green stuff? I think it has something to do with the physical location of the connector/unit. It is not a STA however, but I noticed that equipment that is co-located has the same designation. But what does it mean? Can't even think of what "VU" could stand for.

All ATR panels have a number written like "xxxVU", eg the external panel for operating the cargo door is 5001VU.
The Electrical rack behind the Copilot is 80VU with the individual shelves named 81VU, 82VU, 83VU etc. and behind the captain the naming is 90VU with the shelves called 91VU and etc.

It wouldn't happen to be a Eurocopter product?

Yes it is EC  
So basically this gives the location of the connector/unit? I guess that only helps if you know where all the VUs are ...
