There is an article in Flight International about the Sonic Cruiser. Boeing plans to incorporate more composite than in the B777 wich has around 11% in weight.
All composite primary structures in:
- twin vertical tails
- delta wing
- a high proportion of the fuselage.
Boeing's original goal is an 85-95% composite structure !!
My question is not about the safety concern, composite structures are well-proven but I would like to know the proportion of composite structures in the Airbuses (including the A380).
