Hi everyone,
On Fly-by-Wire Airbus aircraft, what amount of thrust is given when the autothrottle system is not engaged and the throttles are moved out of the manual range, and into the CLB, MCT/FLX or TOGA detents?

I am not A320 current but I understand that placing the thrust levers in any of these detents arms the autothrust system. The reason I think this is the following quote from the (A320/321) FOM:
"Once the thrust levers are set in the FLEX or TOGA detent, the autothrust system is armed."
Best to get an answer from a wonderbus driver though, I'm a Boeing boy myself.
I used to love the smell of Jet-A in the morning...

If autothrottle is not engaged, the throttle levers act like any other plane. TOGA will give you TOGA thrust, MCT gives maximum continuous thrust, and the CLB detent doesnt correspond to anything. Actually, there isn't a "manual range" but an autothrust range (denoted by the A/THR bracket). Moving the levers beyond FLX/MCT to TOGA overrides the autothrust and commands TOGA, moving them to idle disconnects autothrust.
Rick767, the quote is correct, it is the procedure for takeoff with autothrust, and that the A/THR pushbutton must have been be armed.
