Wondering after i saw this video of Blue1 B717 landing at ams why does the spoilers go back down shortly after reverse thrust is applied? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpUelAj7N4Q

Now compare it to this video of Airtran B717 landing at msp and the spoilers stay up/applied all of the landing roll.

Is this normal thing to do or did the Blue1 have malfunction of it's spoilers, what do you think?

Ok,now i found old post about Why Nose Goes Up When Spoilers Deploy? (by AR385 Mar 4 2013 in Tech Ops) If you look the first video the plane seems to rise the nose when spoilers deploy,so probably the captain wanted to kill that motion by lowering the spoilers.

I think this is pretty unlikely, as the nose was already on the ground. My guess would be a malfunction in the autospoiler system, since at many airlines it is SOP to not retract the spoilers on the runway using the spoiler handle.

B-52s don't take off. They scare the ground away.

What do they use then, one of the throttles advanced forward to retract them?
