They appear to have inboards and outboards which are paired together.

How do they work? -- Does the outboards lock out with flaps or slats up? Or does it work by airspeed only?

In low speed mode all 4 ailerons operate. However above 190 Kts, in config 0 (Flaps/slats retracted) the otbd ailerons are contolled to zero deflection.

In some failure modes the otbd ailerons will be used up to 300 kts.

I had read several times that on landing, the ailerons on 330/340 deflect UP on both sides to act as spoiler.
However, I have never been able to find any pictures of this. I have only seen landing pictures of spoilers up and ailerons in the drooped position.
Can anyone explain this?

Mhsieh,

This only occurs on the A340-600

All Airbus aircraft, including the A320 family, have the aileron droop facility. However on the narrow bodies this option is very seldom taken up by the operator. Interesting re-the aileron doubling as a spoiler on landing. I will try to notice it next time I see a landing.

I think all A320/330/340 have droop ailerons with flao extended. I think it's standard. I have never seen a A320 without the aileron droop (UA, US, NW, AW, AC A320....to name a few, all have droop ailerons.
