Unfortunately I don't have the article to hand but I recently read that the ICAO are pushing for stage 4 noise requirements to meet the ever stringent environmental regulations. Does anyone else have any more information ?

I say its a bad idea. Let the whiners that move around the airports complain. What were they suppose to expect? In many, many cases, the airport was there first. It's the whiners' fault.

I agree. If you don't like the sound of loud airplanes, don't live by the airport. Here in Dallas, the entire community around Love Field is going nuts over how noisy it is around the airport. Too bad, I say.

I heard that meetings are being held by FAA and other regulating agencies to discuss the details of Stage 4. The new stage 4 is scheduled to take effect at the end of 2002.

Best Regards,
