Stages To Landing An Aicraft

I would like to know what the exact stages are which the cockpit crew engage, when landing an aircraft. Right from descent to touch down. Basically what are the procedures taken. I would appreciate if you could mention the speed, altitude etc. Lets say, in relation to a 747.
