When at KLAX (Los Angeles) I hear Swiss Airlines tune in for departure route clearance.

They usually take the LAXX4 TRM PKE

After the two VORS mentioned aboved, how many more VORs they have to fly or vector to within still in the USA or before they hit the Atlantic Coast???

Also, what are the VORs they fly over if there are any European pilots out here that from KLAX to EDDF, EHAM, LSZH etc.

Here is today's LAX-ZRH flight route:

KLAX.SEBBY2.SEBBY..DAG.J9.MLF.J107.DDY.J158.ABR.J32.YQT..YMO..YWK..FOXXE..SCROD..5500N/05000W..5500N/04000W..5500N/03000W..5400N/02000W..MALOT.UN535.BURAK.UN533.CRK.UG4.LND.UG4.LIZAD.UN160.RBT.UL851.MELKO.UM606.BLM..LSZH/1041

I don't have a airway chart, but if you do, then you can find out what VORs they fly over. Hope this helps.

LAXX4? I thought it was LAXX2 departure?  Confused

The trans-atlantic stuff out of LAX always takes different departure routes, but LAXX2 is the usual. It implies flying straight out over the ocean, then a left turn back towards the LAX VOR. If you have a scanner and some binoculars on a clear day, its good fun to sit on the beach and watch them do the whole procedure  Big thumbs up

The waypoint MLF is Milford Utah's VOR and J9 is also in Utah.

I got the route info from http://www.fboweb.com/. You need to pay $10/month to access the flight plan info, but it's very cool, since you can track any civil flight in US airspace in real time, and get their airway routes.
