British Airways 757 Nose!

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know why British Airways have a black ring around the nose of their 757s? I heard it might be to do with testing a microwave landing system to replace ILS but am not sure? If it is a test, how is it going? Do any other airlines have them on test?

I started a thread on this a while ago, and really never got a definate answer. You may try searching previous posts to see if any more info was added.
