Wonder If 757 Nose Was Considered On 737NG?

Other than the obvious reasons of cost developement, I wonder if the 757 nose was thought of to be applied to the 737NG?

Any other thoughts out there?

The 757 (as the 7N7) had the 727/737 nose in the original design, however it was modified to it's present form when it was decided that the 757 and 767 should have a common flight deck. As the 757 flightdeck then needed widening with the same fuselage diameter it was essentially lowered to fit, resulting in the 'drooped' nose appearance.

yea it does. the 737 seems to have the same nose(or at least similar) as the 707. anyway, it ould not have been a 737 if they changed the nose. that thing would look goofy. a job for manipulators, make a 737 with a 757 nose! Big grin

Here's a photo from Boeing of the initial 757 design showing the 727 lineage clearly, a feature that was later lost.
