Tarzanboy,

The L10 simulator was developed at the same time as the aircraft, and the first one belonged to Lockheed and was positioned in Palmdale, California.
It now resides in Amman, Jordan AFAIK.

A LOT of early training was done on the aircraft
My entire type rating was done in the actual aircraft, not the simulator.

Tarzanboy,
Provided you have the proper prior experience, PanAm (training, MIA) will train an entire crew for $21,000, approximately, last I heard.
Delta Global Services, slightly higher.
