I posted this question on the Civil Aviation thread:
I have noticed that 767s make a whooshing/growling sound on descent when passing overhead. I was recently on an HA 767-300, and heard the same sound. Unfortunately, I was sitting in the center section aisle seat, though I did have a chance to notice the flaps deploying peering through the window. Has anyone ever heard that sound either inside or outside? I know that we were at 6,000 to 8,000 feet when this sound occurs, and it wasn't the landing gear being lowered.
In Honolulu, I have noticed that all variants make that sound. AC 762s; AA, HA, UA, & 5X 763s; and CO & DL 764s fly into and out of HNL.
Maybe it was the aircraft farting due to the airline food.

I was thinking, its probably the spoilers disrupting the airflow that you hear from inside the cabin, or the flaps being lowered the first notch or two. AS far as how it sounds going over head I dont know.
