Runway lights basically consist of runway edge lights,
threshold lights and runway end lights, but for CATII
and CATIII runways you also need centre line lights and touchdown zone lights.
>Runway edge lights (white) are placed along the full length of the runway except at intersections.
>Runway threshold lights show green in the direction
to the runway and red in the direction of the runway.
>Centre line lights are white and become red approaching the runway end.
>Touchdown zone lights (white) consist of pairs of barrettes on both sides of the centre line extending
from the threshold for a distance of 900m, I guess.
>Taxiway centre line lights (green)
>Taxiway edge lights (blue)
>Clearance bars (yellow) and Taxi-holding position
lights (also yellow) are basically the same, I guess,
and mark holding points on taxiways.
