Take-off Rolls And Rate Of Acceleration?

What is the typical Rate of acceleration for a B737 with normal power setting and the average take-off weight?

Is it like something 6mph per second to maybe 8mph per second? In terms of Groundspeed NOT Indicated Airspeed.

Well i remember being in a 737 and we took off in 20 seconds at about 130 mph, i think it was either a 731 or 732: (doing math) I get 6.5 mph per second.

I prefer metric, the caluclations are easier: 2.906 m/s²

or depending on what part of the planet you are one, the accel there is just shy of a third-gravity.

He said about 130MPH so it's not an exact figure. Although in reality the velocity would probably have been higher than 130MPH as speed is measured in KTS not MPH so if they rotated at 130 MPH speed in KTS would be only 112 KTS which is very slow for a 737.
