I searched this forum (using "IFE" and "Headsets") and did not find this in a previous thread. I have an IFE headset from the airline I usually fly. I am probably going to be taking a flight to the Caribbean this Spring or early Summer with another airline. Will the headset work with other airlines?

Depends on your class of travel.
On AF for instance, Y-class nasty two-socket headphones are compatible with most other Y-class airlines, but are integrated into the seat in F and C.

I know that on 747-436 (you'll have to figure out the airline  Wink/being sarcastic ), the jack socket is the standard one in Y (I used my own headphones on a HKG-LHR flight two years ago)

The set I have has two prongs with the prongs at different lengths (slight difference in lengths). Will these work with United and what about American?

Not on AA. They use a standard 1/8in Stereo plug.

Just for info, last time I checked you could get the 1 prong to 2 adapter at Radio Shack.
