On B737
Why is the Aisle stand checked for proper clearance between the thrust levers and the nylon strips, & if required rework to obtain .000 to .005 total clearance, throughout lever travel.
What is the purpose of these Nylon strips.

Think of the brighter side!

Never having worked on the B737, I'll make an educated guess. Since the clearance goes from interference (.000) to .005 I would guess its just a dirt/dust shield to prevent FOD from falling into the pedestal. It could also act as a chafe strip to prvent the throttle sides from wearing due to side loads placed on the throttle, i.e. pushing at an angle instead of axially.

Once again, just a guess.
