After spending more than a million bucks trying to get the procedure certified on all AA aircraft, the A300s still have a problem with some cell phones interferring with the aircraft's internal communication system. It has become a low priority issue since all indications are that the only way to "fix" the "problem" is to completely rewire the aircraft.

FWIW, some MD80s had problems with lavatory smoke detectors in some locations with some cell phones. That problem was fixed by replacing the "problem" detectors with brands that did not show "problems" and retesting. Apparently no "problems" found with Boeing products and the multitude of cell phones available.
