To the mechanics who perform B717 checks:

What do you guys call the checks these days? 15K? 30K?

The reason why Im asking is because I know the 717 is based off of the D9 airframe but after Boeing bought out McDD, Boeing did a little bit of modifications to the 717 including a name change (from M95 to 717.)

So do you guys call it C-check/D-check (Boeing's way) or the traditional McDD way of 15K/30K?

Thanks!!

Funny but for the last 30 years (about) I've called them A, B, C, and D checks. Can't say as I've ever heard of the "K". I've only worked 9's and MD80's since 1990 but I worked DC10's for a while before that.
I used to teach the 717 avionics and a little system stuff too. Guess I missed that part.
Could you point me to the origin?
Thanks

At AS, we call them 15K & 30K checks. I was also told that McDD were the ones that called them that and AS followed suit per manufactor recommendations in the McDD MM.

Cool, thanks. I just never heard it before.
Probably the midwest influence on my training.

At AS we only have M80s & 737s, but no 717s at all, I should point that out....

I know Valujet/AirTran calls them A, B, C, D checks... Or at least Lewis Jordan did.
