Hello, here is my fourth installment of my summer 2012 trips. This one is from FSM to LGA, for a vacation in Cape Cod, MA. We (my dad and I) flew in to LGA to meet up with relatives who live in NY, and we drove up to Cape Cod the next day.

A few months earlier, we had been looking at tickets for this vacation. We wanted to use miles, and we noticed that economy was being sold for 17,500 miles, while First/Business was 30,000. We found it very affordable, and much to my delight, we booked it. It would by my first time sitting up front, after 15 years of sitting in the back. However, there was a catch: we would have to go through MIA, instead of the regular FSM-DFW-LGA routing. Any normal traveler would have groaned, but this made me even more excited. Another flight, another aircraft, and another experience sitting up front! The return involved a stop in MIA too.

So after all the waiting, the day rolled around......August 3rd, 2012.

Our quaint, beautiful little terminal here at FSM in the wee morning hours.

The only view I could get of our ERJ-145 that would take us to DFW. I couldn't get the registration  http://i1144.photobucket.com/albums/o484/kann123air/DSC_0003-1.jpg

Much to my delight, we found out our flight (AA 1976) would leave from Terminal D! By far my most favorite terminal in the world.

So many flights! Amazing!

AA in First Class is amazing. I know that back in Economy it isn't the best, but all I know that up front the treatment is amazing. Referring to a full-fledged meal as a "Snack", hot towels in domestic flights.....nothing that I have gone through matches it. Well done AA.

I will have a report soon on the return: LGA-MIA-DFW-FSM, again in wonderful First Class!

Thanks for reading!

Nice trip report! I myself have never flown AA, despite having flown almost all of the other major US carriers, so its always fun to see what AAs service and cabin is like. Also, very lucky with the gate in MIA (and the time of your flight) its rare to see such variety at one time.

Much enjoyed! Well done on the trip report. Having not flown myself in 9 months and being once accustomed to nonreving in first class quite frequently, I miss it greatly. Reading your report though almost made me feel like I went on that trip myself. Great photos! Looking forward to reading more!

Good report!

AA does have a pretty good domestic F product. When I flew them back in July of 2011, I flew from MSP-DFW-RDU all in F. Really good service, and good food!

Thanks for sharing,

its rare to see such variety at one time.

Very true!

That would be Dover AFB, DE.

Wow! Cool!

Quoting 767747 (Reply 6):
and good food!

It is great!

Quoting MSS658 (Reply 4):
I did not now that AA has Standard F seating on it's 757!

I was surprised to see that too! And happy!

Nice report

The American Airlines Center, the home of the Dallas Mavericks

Has been pointed out already but not even close! That's Dallas Cowboys stadium aka Jerryworld. The Cowboys and Rangers play in Arlington (which is why you can see those ballparks right by DFW) - the Mavs play in downtown Dallas.

Would have to say 30K (roundtrip?) is quite a good deal for this domestic trip in F. Meals look good too, if not a little greasy, but then again you're on vacation so who cares

The American Airlines Arena, where the Miami Heat play their home games. They won the NBA championship two months earlier, and I woke at 6:30 am in India to watch it live! The championship Finally satisfied LeBron....

Ugh - what a joke. The heat make me sick. GO THUNDER!!! We better get 'em back this year ... (assuming the nba will actually have impartial refs this time)

Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the post!

Great TR. Always enjoy seeing TR with stops in MIA.
How did you like Concourse D? Did you take the skytrain at all. There are some great views up there.

I can see how you made the mistake. Cowboys Stadium is HUGE though.

Two beautiful airlines....I've never heard of either one of them.

Aerosur is no longer with us. Skylease is a common sight at MIA. Lots of cargo flights to South America.

Quoting kann123air (Thread starter):
with a Star Alliance plane. What airline could that be?

Probably the Day Light time TAM flight from GRU. Could be Swiss but that is the gate TAM usually uses in the afternoon.

My favorite place in the world

A normal afternoon at MIA besides for the USAF plane. That was the only rare thing at MIA there.

They can make you sick but they are certainly no joke. You as a Thunder fan should know this
Heat vs. Thunder is looking like a decent bet again for the finals. We shall see.

Beautiful AB A330 arriving from Berlin, I'm guessing.

More likely from DUS. TXL is only twice a week.

Quoting kann123air (Thread starter):
That Suriname Airways S80 looks in GREAT condition.....

Lots of heavy maintenance ops at MIA.

Haha true! Being an Arkansas fan I should know how Cowboys Stadium looks like....we play there all the time! (Cotton Bowl, etc.)

True!

Thanks for sharing your excellent routing.

Dramatic pictures in Miami. The food looks good, but it really caters american standard I believe, not sure how some Asian people i.e. would react when they're served such a "Quesadilla"   I would like it though.
