I boarded through 2L and was welcomed by the friendly faces of AA f/a’s who I had flown with many times before. I was then brought up to the purser, who I also knew very well, so he could sign my paper work. The purser escorted me down to 34H, an aisle seat. I asked the f/a’s if there were any window seats available, but unfortunately, this was a full flight. Suddenly, right before closing the door, the purser tells me to bring my stuff and go with him. He leads me up to the First Class section and tells me to sit in seat 3A. That’s ok with me! After closing the door and showing the safety video (a new one I hadn’t seen before), the purser came around to order our meals. The menu:

I chose the fillet of beef and the Ice Cream for dessert. As we were taking off it started raining but we shot above the clouds where it was clear. I opened the amenity kit and put on the Bose headphones. Pic of the amenity kit:





I started to look at the movie selection. In first class, on AA, there is the regular PTV (10 channels) with the same programming as J and Y plus there is a built in VCR. There is a list of 20 movies, some new and some old. The advantage with the tape player is that you can pause and rewind the tape; it’s kind of like a basic version of AVOD. The purser came around with warmed nuts and a cocktail, I had a coke, and asked us what tapes we would like to order. I chose “the man”. A pic of me watching the movie:


After eating the nuts the purser came around with the smoked salmon, which was very good, and next came the beef, which I didn’t really enjoy. Finally dessert came. It was an impressive setup with two flight attendants rolling a cart down the aisle. Your Sunday is prepared on the spot; I had Hot Fudge and Whipped Cream on my vanilla Ice Cream. There were so many choices; it was hard to choose what to eat! After finishing my movie, I went to the J galley to get another one. Once there a f/a ,who I have flown with at least 10 times, offered me the J dessert (mint chocolate chip Ice Cream). How could I say no? At the end of my 2nd movie (“In her shoes”) the 2nd service was beginning. I ran back 2 the J galley chose another movie to occupy my time (this time I chose “Just Like Heaven, which was a really weird movie). I ate my pizza, which was quite good, while we were flying over New Brunswick and some really bumpy air. We landed in snowy Boston right on time and we didn’t even have to wait for a free gate!
This was one of my best flights EVER! The crew was awesome as well as the seat, the entertainment and the food. This flight was a 10 out of 10!

Wow thats quite a nice double upgrade there! Stop living my dreams lol. Why were you an unaccompanied minor, can't you go on your own after 14 or so?

Very good for first trip report. The 777 is awesome especially in first class isn't it? You were probably in the Flagship Suite configuration.
As you get more experience with this, do try to have more photographs. That is probably what I enjoy most about trip reports.
It sounds like you fly between London and Boston a lot. Do you go to school in one of those locations?

Matt, terrific job! Keep up your writing and maybe one day, if you try, you can be a travel writer and get paid for this! You sound like a great kid - there should be many more like you. Of course, it may be difficult for them to have the same style of class as you. You're on the right track. If anything, just enjoy your life and do what you do best! Thanks again for a good read!

I go to school in BOS. Ya, I was in FS (flagship suites) not coffins, which made my experience in F even better!
