Malaysia Airlines RTW Business Class Photo Report

Posted (7 years 2 months 1 week 6 days 7 hours ago) and read 32767 times:

After not flying MH in 2006 after I defected to TG as they had better deals in J Class, plus the opportunity to fly the A345/6, I returned to my favourite airline in 2007 to finally sample the new business class and "NSD" (New Service Delivery) which was only being introduced in 2005 when I last did a RTW with MH. Cutbacks in food service are evident, but still acceptable by my standards. Cabin crew on MH as a testament to the many awards they have won, were fantastic on all sectors. Fellow a.net member Joffie joined me on the this 7 week Round the World journey.
Please enjoy the photos as I will not write much, as I prefer the photos to do the talking.

2 weeks across the USA including DL 752 JFK-LAS and US 733 LAS-LAX
it was time to make the long journey home.

3rd August 2007
LAX-TPE-KUL
MH 095
B744 9M-MPH
At LAX we were given access to the "First Class" Lounge, as my mother was in a wheelchair at the time, I can't see what part of the lounge is First Class, as there was hardly anything on offer not found in some better Business Class lounges.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y22/chrisrad/DSC04835.jpg

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y22/chrisrad/DSC04837.jpg
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y22/chrisrad/DSC04839.jpg
We have noticed that the LED lighting system malfunctions in sections on most of the craft we flew, producing the wrong colours.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y22/chrisrad/DSC04842.jpg
Possibly the worst departure time of any flight with MH, 0140am dep from LAX, no one feels like eating

Actually I was getting sick of the satay by the end, no one said a word about the photos. Unlike my flight with AZ where I was told not to take photos. Like there is much to take photos of with them.......

KUL is a very nice airport, much busier than the first time I visited in 1999 when it was a ghost town.

Business RTW ticket is $7400 plus tax or $3000 in Economy. Techincally you are supposed to fly VS as well, but I bent some rules with the ticket, and managed to get the ARN-EWR sector, when I should have been flying VS to the USA.

Cool thanks, thats not too bad, QF is $14,000 but i think you may be able to travel further.

Even if you did fly VS they have a great J product!

I love satay! favourite dish but it has to be the real stuff like MH's! Funnily enough its actually a cambodian dish.

With this ticket you can fly essentially anywhere where MH flies along with VS, the reason I had to fly MH the whole way was I was using my Enrich points, to upgrade 2 of the 4 tickets. I have flown VS upper class on my last RTW in 2005 and the seats are fantastic, but service and food are not quite MH standard. I can't see QF being worth double for these flights.

Sony DSC-R1, great camera, though very cumbersome and heavy!
